Physician and Nurse Practitioner Appointments

SCC physicians are faculty members at the University of Chicago Hospitals (UCH) Medical Center. Students with chronic illnesses are encouraged to see and establish a relationship with a primary care provider soon after enrolling in the University. Students without ongoing medical conditions do not need to select a primary care provider, but are encouraged to do so to maintain continuity of care. UCH is a teaching institution and occasionally medical residents assist in the SCC under the close supervision of a SCC provider.

The SCC physicians and nurse practitioners are here to not only help students with urgent health care needs (e.g. sprained ankle, strep throat, etc.), but also with care for chronic illness or routine general check-ups (e.g. annual physical, sexual/reproductive health care, chronic: respiratory, endocrine and cardiovascular issues, LGBTQ health, STI/HIV testing, etc.).
